IEMHSA becomes part of  Neami

Following extensive assessment of the desirability and feasibility of a merger, on 1 July 2011 Inner East Mental Health Service Association (IEMHSA) has become part of Neami.   The IEMHSA sites are now Neami Service Sites.

While IEMHSA has been providing services in the eastern suburbs of Melbourne for more than 21 years, they will now become Neami Service Sites.    The team of 31 direct care workers across four service sites are servicing over 350 consumers.  They bring a depth of knowledge and experience to Neami and share similar values regarding consumer rehabilitation.  These sites will function in the same way as existing Neami services currently operating in the North West Metropolitan Region of Melbourne, and more broadly other Neami Services nationally.

We are very enthusiastic about the opportunities this creates for consumers and their carers especially with the provision of additional training resources for staff, additional infrastructure supports and the introduction of the Collaborative Recovery Model.

IEMHSA $3 million recurrent funding will bring the Neami’s total Victorian operations federal and state government funding to approximately $9 million.
