Neami psychosocial rehabilitation and support programs provide opportunities for people who are disadvantaged and who experience disability as a result of a diagnosed mental illness. These programs provide resources and activities that help to strengthen the social and living skills necessary to create stability and independence in peoples' lives. Tailored programs and a supportive environment offer consumers the opportunity to develop and enhance skills, which may assist in their process of recovery.
Programs are facilitated by Neami staff, consumers and in collaboration with other services. Neami psychosocial rehabilitation programs are run in the local community allowing consumers to re/connect with their community and provide community members with an avenue to address issues of stigma associated with mental illness.
